Lail Named Associate Dean at Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business

January 4, 2023

Bradley Lail, professor and chair for the Department of Accounting and Business Law, was named associate dean of Undergraduate Programs at the Hankamer School of Business. The appointment begins June 1, 2023.

“Brad has faithfully served the department as chair for several years and has guided them with wisdom, skill and compassion,” said Sandeep Mazumder, the William E. Crenshaw Endowed Dean of the Business School. “He brings with him terrific ideas to bolster our undergraduate programs and to help us work toward greater success for our students.”

In his new role, Lail will oversee Undergraduate Programs at the Business School, supervise the directors of the Baylor Angel Network and the Office of Industry Relations and Experiential Learning, and support Dean Mazumder in the deployment of strategic initiatives regarding HSB programs and services.

Lail will replace Mark Dunn, who has served as the associate dean of Undergraduate Programs for the past 15 years.

“Mark has spearheaded undergraduate programs with skill and knowledge, while doing so with good humor,” Mazumder said. “He has been a huge asset to me with his key insight, but has also been a close friend. I thank him for his years of service in this role and for his help in positioning the undergrad programs where they are today.”

Lail graduated from Baylor University in 1998 with Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration degrees. He began his professional career as a staff auditor with EY in Dallas before moving to SBC Communications (now known as AT&T).

Lail earned his PhD from the University of Oklahoma in 2009 and became an assistant professor at North Carolina State University that same year. In 2011, he returned to Baylor, joining the Department of Accounting and Business Law.
