Gathering Opportunities
We invite students, faculty and staff to join a variety of gatherings designed to foster connection, unity, and a welcoming community. These opportunities provide spaces to extend hospitality, nurture belonging and strengthen our shared commitment to supporting one another through the love of Christ.
Welcome to Hankamer

This yearly event takes place the Friday before the fall semester and introduces incoming students to the Business School. The goal is to share about HSB’s Christian mission and provide an opportunity for students to fellowship with one another. Attendees hear from HSB senior leadership and meet representatives from Undergraduate Advising, Christian Leadership and Ethics, the McBride Center for International Business, the Faith and Business Chapel, and various HSB student organizations.
Weekly Prayer Meetings

Each Friday, HSB faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in weekly prayer gatherings, further integrating faith into our professional and academic ventures.
Global Cultural Fest

Each year, students who have engaged in international business opportunities demonstrate their learning and experiences through cultural-specific presentations, interactive activities, and food. These activities enhance students’ global business understanding while gaining cultural insights and appreciation.
Monthly Social Hour

Located in the Foster Atrium, this event brings faculty, staff and students together for one hour each month to discuss a set of virtues important for our walks as Christians. Attendees enjoy good conversation and fellowship over seasonal refreshments such as lemonade and hot chocolate.
International Student/Faculty Welcome Luncheon and Panel

Each fall, the Business School invites new international students and faculty to share a lunch and learn about available opportunities. The event helps introduce new faces to a growing community.
Dean’s Coffee Hour with Faculty and Staff

Held once a semester, this event invites faculty and staff to connect over coffee and snacks while hearing from Dean Mazumder. Each gathering is co-hosted by a department, center or institute, allowing for deeper connections to form with those units.
One-on-One with New Faculty
These one-on-one meetings take place a few weeks after the new faculty members join the HSB. The Dean and one of the Associate Dean visit with each of the new faculty members over coffee to hear their experiences and understand their needs to help welcome them into our community.
Collegiate Day of Prayer Hosting Site

Each year, the Hankamer School of Business serves as a hosting site for the nationwide Collegiate Day of Prayer. This offers all a venue to slow down, silently reflect and worship in prayer.
