Baylor ProSales Announces the BBBD Winners

October 4, 2021

After networking in-person with executives during the Fall Top Gun Training program, Baylor’s Center for Professional Selling challenged ProSales students through the Baylor Business Business Development (BBBD) competition, an experiential learning exercise focused on the pre-call planning and business development steps of the sales process.

The competition engaged 140 students (78 ProSales majors and 52 students taking the first professional selling course) who established strategies for identifying prospective corporate buyers for COVID-19-related testing services. Students developed pre-call plans for contacting prospects and initiating contact via telephone and email. Their goal in the process was to obtain a face-to-face meeting to discuss how MyLabsDirect might assist the firm with their return-to-the-office testing strategies. Baylor University and MyLabsDirect work in partnership on expanding the testing services that are completed at Baylor’s Research and Innovation Center (BRIC).

This business acumen competition took place live and in-person, and the leaderboard updated after every question. I loved the added element of pressure, and it elevated my desire to compete and win.”

“We continue to expand the experiential learning opportunities offered to our ProSales students so each graduating class gains strength and capabilities beyond the preceding class. We believe that Baylor continues to lead in the academic sales landscape because we are constantly innovating to improve the student learning experience.
