November 7, 2022

Over Baylor’s Homecoming weekend, Baylor University took the 1st place team finish at the 2022 National Team Selling Competition (NTSC) hosted by Indiana University-Bloomington. By taking 1st place in this competition, Baylor ProSales wrapped up a fall sales competition season with perfect results, garnering three out of three 1st place team finishes: Great Northwoods Sales Warm-Up (coached by Dr. Eric Swan), the Rocky Mountain Madness competition (coached by Dr. Andrea Dixon), and the National Team Selling Competition (coached by Dr. Stephanie Mangus).

Student teams from 24 universities participated in the NTSC where they represented a technology and engineering company who offers state-of-the-art in-store customer experience technology. Grace Bass, Kelsey Boehme, Max Kleiner, and Haley West, all seniors in the Professional Selling program, represented Baylor in this team-based competition. The Baylor team was coached by Dr. Stephanie Mangus, student coaches, Jason Nacario and Carli Smith, and executive team coach, Beth Gosnell from BMC.

After two days of competitions involving sales exchanges with executives from 3M, Altria and Nucor, the Baylor team took the first place finish overall.

Senior Haley West notes, "I am so grateful to have competed in my first external competition with such an excellent team and faculty during the National Team Selling Competition at Indiana University. Everyone, including our student coaches, poured so much time into this competition, and it was so rewarding to see it all pay off. It was an honor to represent Baylor ProSales this past week, and an even greater honor to work with such talented individuals."

Dr. Mangus shared, “NTSC is a great opportunity for students to showcase their talents in a team environment. Students are pressed on their sales skills, teamwork, and ability to adapt to new information quickly. This year’s team worked seamlessly together for a result of which we are really proud.”

The 24 participating universities included Baylor University, Florida State University, Illinois State University, Indiana State University, Indiana University, Marian University, Michigan State University, Northern Illinois University, Pace University, Purdue University,  University of Arizona, University of Kansas, University of New Mexico, University of North Carolina-Wilmington, University of Richmond, University of San Diego, University of Washington, University of Wisconsin-Parkside, Utah State University, Villanova University, Weber State University, Winona State University, and Xavier University of Louisiana.
