Student Feature - Trey Compton

While still in high school, Trey Compton took a management internship with DECA, a non-profit association aimed at developing students’ business and leadership skills. Working at a small convenience store called The Cave, Trey was involved in marketing, finance, and sales where he competed in several shark-tank-style competitions. It was here he found his love for sales.

At Baylor, Trey is Alpha Kappa Psi’s Vice President of Administration, serving as the liaison between the fraternity, Baylor and other organizations. A natural born leader with a servant’s heart, he has used this platform to advocate for fellow students with recruiters, securing several internship interviews for his peers. When still new to the ProSales program, Trey led a team of students as a Silent Auction Sales Manager. His team exceeded their quota by 316% and he exceeded his own by 246%. As a student coach and competitor for the University of Toledo Invitational Sales Competition, Trey placed 6th nationally, while the student he was coaching placed 3rd. Finally, competing in the Baylor Business Value Analysis (BBVA) competition, Trey finished in first place.

Throughout his time in ProSales, Trey has learned the value of time management, and the importance of being self-driven and adaptable. Balancing schoolwork, activities, and extra curriculars, and with the recognition that plans can change, ProSales has taught him to exceed expectations and strive for success. For Trey, sales is all about uncovering needs and providing helpful solutions, and he looks forward to serving his clients in his future career.
