The Hankamer School of Business (HSB) hosts several events that advance professional development, cultivate networks and enrich student engagement.
Meet the Major Series
On Nov. 4 and Nov. 11, HSB continued its Meet the Major Series, highlighting Management, Supply Chain, Human Resources and Finance. Faculty and students shared insights on coursework, internships and career pathways, helping attendees make informed academic and professional decisions.
Dale P. Jones Business Ethics Forum
HSB hosted four keynote sessions for the Dale P. Jones Business Ethics Forum, beginning with the Young Alumni Panel on Nov. 4, where recent graduates shared insights about their early business experiences and faith in the workplace. Continuing the keynote series, on Nov. 6, Scott Smith and a panel offered guidance to undergraduate students. On Nov. 7, the forum featured a luncheon for MBA students participating in the MBA Case Competition in Ethical Leadership, with guest speaker Kayce Ford addressing attendees including students, judges, faculty, and staff. The forum concluded on Nov. 11 with a keynote by Andy Crouch titled “The Life We’re Being Trained to Look For.”
ProSales Events
The Center for Professional Selling (ProSales) continued to engage students and corporate partners through multiple events this semester.
- Explore ProSales offered companies an inside look at the ProSales program, its high-performance sales research model, and opportunities to interact with more than 20 students who shared insights into the curriculum, competitions, internships, and career strategies.
- ProSales Information Sessions provided prospective students with guidance on the admissions process and emphasized the program’s commitment to developing future sales leaders through personalized coaching, national competitions, and hands-on experience.
- Professional Development Program (PDP), a student-run initiative within the Hankamer School of Business, offered events designed to foster learning opportunities beyond the classroom. Students gained exposure to diverse industries and career paths while strengthening their professional skills.
- Baylor Business Ethics Competition (BBEC), part of the Dale P. Jones Ethics Forum, challenged ProSales students to address complex ethical business issues through team-based presentations evaluated by executive judges. The event provided valuable experience in ethical decision-making and rewarded top performers with cash prizes.
Women, Work & Calling Conference
On Nov. 7, the Women in Leadership Initiative served as a virtual host site for the 10th Annual Women, Work & Calling Conference at Grace Church Waco. The one-day event brought together women to explore the intersection of faith, work, and calling under this year’s theme, “AND.” Attendees participated in livestream sessions, built relationships, and found encouragement in community.
Dakota Live! Podcast
On Nov. 12, Dakota Live! visited Baylor to film a podcast featuring moderator Rob Morier, a Drexel University professor, alongside Dave and Michael Holmberg of Neuberger Berman GP, Chris Dion of OCIO and Renee Hanna, Managing Director of Baylor Investments. The event included a mixer for students to network with panelists and learn about the roles of allocators, strengthening connections between Baylor and Neuberger Berman for future recruitment opportunities.
Baylor Angel Network (BAN) Social
The Baylor Angel Network hosted a social celebrating the opening of its new student workspace on the mezzanine level of the second floor on Nov. 13. Highlights included remarks from BAN founders, student testimonials, and closing remarks from the Dean, commemorating the growth of the program and its continued student impact.
Ben Williams Luncheon
The Ben Williams Luncheon hosted on Nov. 14, honored MBA students participating in the National MBA Case Competition, featuring participants from 15 universities across the country, including Baylor, Oklahoma State, TCU, BYU, Carnegie Mellon, and Pepperdine. The luncheon fostered networking among competitors and recognized excellence in ethical leadership and business strategy.
