The Hankamer School of Business (HSB) hosts several events that advance professional development, cultivate networks and enrich student engagement.  

Meet the Major Series 
On Oct. 14, HSB hosted its Meet the Major Series featuring Marketing, Professional Selling (ProSales) and the S3E Track, where departments spotlight their programs for students exploring different business majors. Faculty and students shared insights on coursework, internships and career pathways, helping attendees make informed academic and professional decisions.

Continuing Oct. 21, the series highlighted Economics, International Business and the Global Business Certificate, providing students with additional opportunities to learn about academic options and future career paths.

Following that, the series continued on Oct. 28 by highlighting the Accounting Program. 

ProSales Professional Development Program
On Oct. 15, ProSales hosted the Professional Development Program (PDP), which prepares students for a successful college-to-career transition. The student-run initiative offers a series of events designed to facilitate learning opportunities outside the classroom, helping students deepen their understanding of various fields and explore career opportunities. Guest speaker Adam Syswerda, President of Box Insurance, presented “C-Suite before 40: The Biblical Way.”

Continuing the PDP series, on Oct. 29, ProSales welcomed Cherie LaBuzetta, VP of Growth Strategy, Indirect Channel Sales at Xerox, who shared insights from her leadership journey and professional experience.

ACC CPE Conference
On Oct. 17, the Department of Accounting hosted the CPE Event for accounting professionals from across the university and Central Texas. The event provided continuing professional education opportunities and featured presentations led by graduate accounting students, showcasing their expertise and fostering connections with industry professionals.

International Business Week

On Oct. 21–23, HSB celebrated International Business Week, a series of events featuring guest speakers who shared insights on various aspects of international business with students and faculty. Some presentations were held online to accommodate speakers joining from outside Waco, providing a global perspective and enriching the learning experience for attendees.

Accounting Extravaganza
On Oct. 28, the Department of Accounting hosted Accounting Extravaganza. Attendees learned more about the program, explored academic and career opportunities, and connected with faculty and current students.
