Baylor Business is expanding global opportunities, ensuring students gain meaningful international exposure across programs. From study abroad and virtual collaborations to mission-driven initiatives and global internships, HSB equips students to lead in an increasingly interconnected world.

Expanding Global Opportunities at Baylor Business

The Business School has significantly expanded its global offerings, ensuring students across all programs can access meaningful international experiences. Under the leadership of Sandeep Mazumder, PhD, the William E. Crenshaw Endowed Dean, HSB has prioritized global engagement, offering more ways for students to gain international exposure than ever before.

Growth in Study Abroad Programs

HSB now provides study abroad opportunities in all academic terms through the McBride Center for International Business. Over the past few years, the number of summer programs alone has grown from three to eight, while winter programs have increased to five. Graduate students also benefit from expanded opportunities, including embedded global experiences for all full-time MBA students. Additionally, the Baylor Business Scholars program now includes a dedicated global opportunity each spring.

Baylor Business Missions

HSB’s Christian Leadership and Ethics Office integrates faith, service and learning to equip students for global impact through Business Missions. Students engage in transformative experiences that reinforce the view of mission as a vocation. Past missions have included projects in Belize, Guatemala, the Netherlands and Zambia. Through these efforts, HSB fosters faith-driven leadership and empowers students to serve communities worldwide.

Introducing COIL: Global Experiences for Every Student

Recognizing that not all students can travel abroad, HSB has integrated Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) into multiple disciplines. COIL enables students to engage with peers and faculty worldwide through virtual projects, significantly enhancing cultural intelligence. Currently implemented in management, marketing, finance and leadership courses, COIL is poised to further the Business School’s commitment to global exposure.

The Global Business Certificate

The Business School now offers the Certificate in Global Business, an academic credential recognizing students’ international coursework, study abroad experiences and globally focused projects. The first group of students graduated with this distinction in December 2024, marking another milestone of a growing initiative that integrates global learning into students’ academic journeys.

Expanding International Internship and Consulting Opportunities

Beyond traditional study abroad, students can now participate in internships and consulting projects through structured global programs.

  • Internships: Available in short summer, full summer and semester-long formats.
  • Consulting Projects: MBA students engage in business challenges with international companies, tackling real-world problems such as market expansion strategies and operational improvements.

Strengthening Global Business Partnerships

Through partner programs, students can study at prestigious universities worldwide, such as St. Louis University in Madrid and Yonsei University in South Korea. These partner institutions provide semester-long study options, immersing students in different cultural and business environments.

A Unified Vision for Global Business Education

To better communicate the depth and breadth of these initiatives, HSB is framing these efforts under a unified Global Baylor Business identity. This approach highlights how study abroad, COIL, international internships, and mission-driven business initiatives all contribute to a comprehensive global business education. Whether students travel abroad, engage in virtual collaboration, or complete global consulting projects, every Baylor Business student now has the opportunity to develop an international perspective.

These initiatives reflect the Business School’s commitment to preparing students for leadership in a globally connected world. By continuing to innovate and expand global offerings, Baylor Business ensures that every student, regardless of their circumstances, has access to an impactful international experience.
