Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business (HSB) and the Christian Leadership and Ethics Office (CL&E) will host the second annual Armes Family Christian Leadership in Business Summit May 20-21 at the Paul L. Foster Campus for Business and Innovation. The summit brings business leaders, researchers and students together to discuss what it means to be a Christian leader in the workplace.

“Our purpose is to equip Christian leaders to feel more empowered to shine the light of Christ in the marketplace,” said Matt Quade, PhD, the CL&E director and the Kimberly and Aaron P. Graft Professor in Christian Leadership in Business. “This summit helps connect people to other men and women with similar mindsets regarding how we should live out our faith in our work.”

The two-day event will bring people from all levels of leadership and industries, including Baylor students, to the table for these discussions, Quade said. Attendees will hear from a series of keynote speakers, including Baylor President Linda Livingstone, interact with a panel of young HSB alumni and engage in various breakout sessions led by business researchers from Baylor, Wheaton College and the University of South Carolina.

The Armes Summit will also provide numerous networking opportunities, Quade said. The event features several lunches and breaks where attendees can meet one another and grow their network. At the inaugural event in 2024, roughly 20 percent of the attendees were Baylor students, allowing them to engage with industry leaders and hear firsthand how they can incorporate their faith into their careers.

“It was great to see students interact with business leaders in this way,” Quade said. “We hope to see more students attend this year and continue to learn how faith and work can intersect.”

Registration is $125, including meals, snacks throughout the Summit and a “Light of the World” Baylor-branded gift. It will close on May 5. Baylor undergraduate students can attend for free.

“The Armes Summit is not exclusive to the Baylor family, but it does intentionally reflect the distinctive mission and values of Baylor,” Quade said.
