Baylor University Student Chapter Receives Merit Award from SHRM
SHRM (the Society for Human Resource Management), the trusted authority on all things work, workers and the workplace, awarded a 2025-2026 Superior Merit Award designation to the Baylor University SHRM student chapter for providing superior growth and development opportunities to its student members.
The SHRM Student Chapter Merit Award program encourages the development of more effective student chapters and distinguishes outstanding activities and projects. Chapters are recognized based on operations, chapter programming and professional development of members, support of the human resource profession and SHRM engagement.

SHRM student chapters have the opportunity to earn an award based on the number of activities they complete during the merit award cycle, the most recent one of which lasted from May 1, 2025, to April 30, 2026.
Throughout the 2025-2026 academic year, Baylor’s SHRM student chapter provided members with meaningful opportunities for professional growth, service and community. The chapter hosted monthly meetings featuring human resources professionals who shared industry insights and career advice, organized regular social events to strengthen connections among members, and led community service initiatives, including adopting a local family during the Christmas season. Students also expanded their professional networks by attending the HR Southwest Conference and participating in the Texas SHRM Annual Student Conference, where they engaged with HR leaders and peers from across the state.
