Graduation Requirements
Students will be recognized as candidates for the doctoral degree only after:
Qualifying Event
The qualifying event should be completed at the scheduled time, typically within six months of course completion. Specific instructions and guidelines for the qualifying event will be shared with students as they engage in their coursework (i.e., Years 1 and 2).
Doctoral Dissertation
The candidate must complete a dissertation proposal and successfully defend the proposal at an oral examination.
- Completing and passing all residence and departmental requirements except the dissertation.
- Successfully completing the qualifying event.
- Receiving approval by the Dean of the Graduate school of their formal application for admission to candidacy for the degree.
