Robbins Institute Awards Scholarships
The Robbins Institute for Health Policy and Leadership awarded 13 scholarships at its Advisory Council meeting on April 12, 2024.
Joel and Diane Allison Scholarship
Zach Bush of Plano, Texas, is this year’s winner of the Joel and Diane Allison Scholarship. Bush graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy.
Bill and Donna Baker Endowed Scholarship
Dominic Alioto and McGwire Bustamante have received the Bill and Donna Baker Scholarship. Alioto, a native of Kenai, Alaska, received his Bachelor of Business Administration as a Business Fellow, specializing in Economics and International Business. Bustamante, of Temecula, California, graduated from Baylor with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Sciences.
Louis and Angela Bremer Scholarship
Brianna Bates is the 2024 winner of the Louis and Angela Bremer Scholarship. The Bakersfield, California, native earned a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Baylor University.
Ann and Scott Garner Endowed Scholarship
Bill and Mary Jo Robbins and the Robbins Foundation established the Ann and Scott Garner Endowed Scholarship for the Robbins Institute in 2022. Maheen Kara of Plano, Texas, is the second winner of this scholarship. Maheen received her Bachelor of Arts as a University Scholar and is currently attending medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
J. Wiley Green Scholarship
A native of Waco, Texas, Samuel Barron was awarded the 2024 J. Wiley Green Scholarship. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Baylor University.
Jim and Debbie Greenwood Endowed Scholarship
Andrew Thomas earned the Jim and Debbie Greenwood Scholarship. Originally from Heath, Texas, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Medical Humanities from Baylor University and is currently attending William Carey University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine in Mississippi.
Linda and Kenneth Hall Endowed Scholarship
In 2022, Robbins Institute benefactors Bill and Mary Jo Robbins and the Robbins Foundation established the Linda and Kenneth Hall Endowed Scholarship. The second recipient of this endowed scholarship is Mariam Fawzy Mohamed Mahfouz Eid of Houston, Texas. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Baylor University and is attending dental school at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry in Dallas.
Foster G. McGaw Scholarship
Juliet Barrera of Robinson, Texas, was awarded the Foster G. McGraw Scholarship. She has a Bachelor of Science in Health Science Studies from Baylor University.
Jeffrey K. and Leslie S. Norman Family Endowed Scholarship
Brody Elliott and Jordin Paige are the 2024 recipients of the Norman Family Scholarship. Originally from Denver, Colorado, Elliott earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Baylor University. Paige, of Clovis, California, received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Baylor University.
Boone and Peggy Powell Endowed Scholarship
Hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, Abbas Khan was awarded the 2024 Powell Scholarship. Khan has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Baylor University.
Brigadier General Donald B. Wagner and Jan Wagner Endowed Scholarship
Marshall Garcia is the 2024 winner of the Wagner Scholarship, created by Brigadier General Donald Wagner and his late wife, Jan. Garcia hails from San Antonio, Texas, and received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Baylor University.
