The Army-Baylor MHA/MBA class had the incredible opportunity to hear from Nate Self in March 2025. During his service, Self served as a captain in the US Army and earned a Purple Heart, Silver Star and Bronze Star. Today, he shared his powerful story of service and leadership. Self recounted his experience during Operation Anaconda, specifically the Battle of Roberts Ridge in March 2002 – a harrowing 17-hour combat mission where he led a Quick Reaction Force tasked with rescuing a missing Navy SEAL under extreme conditions.
Retired Brig. Gen. Ursone for taking the time to speak with our class in February 2025 about leadership and the invaluable lessons learned throughout his extensive military career. His wisdom, experiences and perspectives provided us with key takeaways on what it truly means to lead with integrity, resilience and purpose.
