Faith, Work and Leadership

In today’s business world, Christian professional women face the challenge of seamlessly integrating their work and faith. The tension between career aspirations and traditional family roles can leave many women feeling confused and guilt-ridden. But God’s design for women is so much more than work or home – it’s a beautiful integration of the two (Proverbs 31:10-31).

We are partnering with Christian Leadership and Ethics to focus on three key areas:

Students: As we prepare the next generation of Christian business leaders, we recognize the importance of mentorship and professional development. Over the past few years, we have connected our students with professional mentors, hosted events such as the annual Women in Business Professional Development Summit, and provided funding for female students to participate in the Christian Leadership in Business Scholarship Program.

Research: We are committed to scholarship that advances our understanding of women in the workplace. We aim to grow our thought-leadership on under-researched women’s experiences at work such as pregnancy discrimination or miscarriage in the workplace. This research, conducted from a Christian perspective, informs strategies and best practices taught in the classroom.

Community: Building a strong community is essential for women to thrive in leadership roles. We aim to be an unapologetically Christian resource for local leaders. We served as a virtual host site for the 2024 Women, Work, and Calling Conference, and we look forward to building stronger connections between Baylor and the Central Texas community.

We would love to have you join us in this initiative! You can make a real difference in the lives of women today and for generations to come. If you’re interested in learning more, please contact Kaylee Hackney, PhD, at kaylee_hackney@baylor.edu.
