HSB Website Policy
In order to ensure consistency of quality and brand integrity, the Hankamer School of Business website must adhere to a set of policies. The following are some of the website policies. However, this is not an exhaustive list and is subject to change at any time.
- Page content and news content must be reviewed by the Assistant Director of Content to ensure accuracy and consistency with HSB style guidelines (modified AP Style with house rules)
- Images must not contain excessive text (greater than a few words) or be exclusively text as this is harmful to users with accessibility needs and fails required accessibility guidelines (WCAG) at the University level.
- All faculty and staff photos on the Hankamer website must meet quality and consistency standards: same resolution, lighting, background, position and size. Any outside professional pictures and/or other internal photos that aren’t taken in the studio will not be used, as they do not meet the standards required by the Dean.
- Videos to be embedded must be reviewed by HSB Communications and Marketing, and must be hosted on YouTube or Mediaspace to an official HSB or Baylor profile (i.e. must not be hosted on a student or faculty member's personal account).
- Videos must not be filmed in vertical mode. Such videos are suited for social media, not website use.
- Each department must contain a minimum standard of content on the Hankamer School of Business website. Therefore, more than 1-2 links within page content to any sites.baylor.edu website will not be allowed. Additionally, no more than 1 navigational link per department, center or institute website can be given to an external website. External links will be reviewed by the Associate Director of Digital Strategy and can be denied at their discretion.
For questions or clarification about HSB website policy, please contact the Associate Director of Digital Strategy.
