1846 Business Incubator
About the 1846 Business Incubator Program
The 1846 Business Incubator at Baylor University was created with the goal of helping student entrepreneurs develop feasible, sustainable and profitable businesses. Our program focuses on working with early-stage student ventures to become operational, reach financial sustainability and meet production and sales targets through entrepreneurship programming and education, hands-on support from faculty, a network of mentors and office space in the incubator.
Program Overview
- The 1846 Business Incubator will select approximately early-stage ventures with promising solutions to market needs.
- Students begin with an organizational assessment, which includes a feasibility analysis—market, competition, industry—as well as an initial financial, operational, and programmatic review.
- Venture Founders participate in the prescribed entrepreneurship education modules and complete requirements by the assigned deadlines.
- The Entrepreneurship Department will work with the selected ventures to test and implement his/her promising new approach to solving a problem.
