Next Steps in your Baylor MBA Journey
As an admitted student, this webpage serves as your first step to enrolling in your OMBA cohort. Application materials, information about advising appointments, Baylor account access, and more can be found here, along with resources to fund your future. Welcome to our Baylor family—we can’t wait to see what you accomplish!
Step 1: Complete the Admissions Process:
- Official Application Documents and Missing Materials– You should request official documents be sent to Baylor as quickly as possible. Check your MBA Application account to confirm the receipt of all official documents and required materials. Once all official documents are received, the admissions process is complete.
Step 2: Accept Your Offer
- Reply to Your Offer of Admission - You will need to respond to the Offer of Admission. You can do so in the Forms portion of the Application Status section of your application portal. Once you accept your offer of admission you will be eligible for advising.
- Online MBA Scholarship - If you are awarded an Online MBA scholarship, an “Additional Decision Letter” will be posted on your Application Status page, separately from your Offer of Admission. You will need to accept or decline the Scholarship in the Forms portion of the Application Status page.
- I-20 Form - All international students should connect with Baylor's International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) which assists incoming international students with I-20 requirements. You must accept your offer to connect with ISSS.
Important Baylor Accounts: These accounts are available once you accept your offer.
- Bear ID - A Bear ID is an electronic identifier created uniquely for every student at Baylor and is generally in the form of firstname_lastname.
- Baylor ID Number - Your Baylor ID number is a 9-digit number used for identification. You will receive this number via email. It can also be found on your Student ID card.
- Baylor Email Your Bear ID and password are the keys to accessing your Baylor email account. Upon completion of the admissions process, you are eligible to activate your Baylor email account.
Important: Once admitted, your Baylor email account will serve as your primary means of communication with several departments at Baylor including the MBA program, International Students & Scholars Services (I-20 process), and Student Financial Services. Please check your Baylor email often. Not monitoring your Baylor email on a regular basis will cause you to miss out on important information.
- BearWeb - You must activate your BearWeb student account. BearWeb is Baylor's secure online portal for access to your information about financial aid, grades and transcripts and course registration as well as personal information such as addresses, phone numbers and emergency contacts.
Step 3: Secure Financial Aid & Funding
- Baylor’s One Stop Student Financial Services: One Stop Student Services is your go-to resource for admissions, financial aid, billing, and payments—all in one convenient place. We’re dedicated to making the process simple and stress-free, offering personalized support at every turn. Learn more via Baylor's Student Financial Services.
- Financial Aid (Federal loans) - Complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA opens annually on October 1st, so you can start the process before acceptance to the MBA program.
- Military/VA Students – If you are using military/VA benefits, you must apply for each term you plan to use benefits. Visit GI Benefits Checklist for the process.
- Cost of Attendance - For financial aid purposes, the Cost of Attendance is an estimate of the total cost to attend Baylor and includes both direct and indirect costs. Direct costs are those billed by Baylor, such as tuition and fees. Indirect Costs are books, supplies, transportation, personal expenses and room and board.
- Scholarship Universe – Use this resource to connect to outside scholarship opportunities. Scholarship Universe saves you time by helping research scholarships that are relevant to you. Access your account today and start answering questions in a personal questionnaire. Based on your answers you will be matched with outside scholarship opportunities in the database tailored to your talents and specific criteria.
- International students can also research international student financial resources on the Student Financial Services site.
One Stop for Graduate Students
Need a point of contact at the University for questions related to financial aid, billing, payment, Federal Work Study, Veteran's Benefits? Baylor's One Stop webpage is a resource for incoming Graduate Students.
Step 4: Complete New Student Checklist
- New Student Onboarding - Attend a New Student onboarding session before you start your first term to learn valuable information about enrolling, program resources, and your next steps. You can register through your application status page.
- Create your Bear’s Den account – The Bear’s Den is your one-stop-shop for all Online MBA program information. This resource is in Canvas, Baylor’s learning management system.
- Orientation Modules – Log into the Bear’s Den to complete the Orientation Modules to equip yourself with the information you need to succeed in the Online MBA program.
- Advising and Registration - As a new Online MBA student, you are required to meet with your Academic Advisor before you register for your first term. You will receive information about how to schedule this appointment after you accept your offer of admission. During your advising appointment, you will have an opportunity to discuss your goals, your degree plan, and your next steps in the enrollment process. You will have access to schedule appointments with your Academic Advisor throughout your time in the Online MBA program.
- Health Insurance - All graduate students are required to enroll in health insurance. If you already have health insurance, you must show proof of insurance to opt out. Active-duty U.S. military members, veterans, and military dependents are exempt from this policy.
After you register, you will receive an email from Academic Health Plans (AHP) with instructions for how to enroll or waive (opt out) Baylor’s insurance. Students will need to opt-out one time per academic year (Fall, Spring, Summer) and before the start of every Fall trimester.
The cost of the coverage will be automatically charged to your student account upon registration. If you obtain an approved waiver during the enrollment/opt out period, this charge will be removed from your bill.
- Technology Requirements
- Canvas - Canvas is the software used by Baylor that allows you to communicate with instructors and fellow students within a course. Other features include 24/7 availability of syllabi, assignments, online grades, online attendance tracking and Internet communication tools. You can access your course materials from any computer with Internet access. Log into Canvas.
- Students are expected to furnish their own laptop computer with associated hardware and maintain internet service. You will also need a webcam and microphone for most classes.
- Microsoft 365 Products - Microsoft Office 365 service is available for all current students, as well as other software you may need.
- Baylor ID Card - You will receive your Baylor ID card during your first term, which is used for campus facilities and resources, such as sporting events. You also have access to set up your Baylor digital ID.
