Business Missions
Baylor business students travel internationally to work alongside local partners to bring solutions to local issues. Their purpose is to participate in God's ongoing work, gaining a greater understanding of what it means to use one's vocation and calling to impact the world for Christ. We have a responsibility to love and care for our global neighbors, sharing their stories both at Baylor and in the community, so that others might learn and be transformed by this experience as well.
Prison Entrepreneurship Program
What is PEP?
The Prison Entrepreneurship Program (PEP) is prison outreach from a business perspective. Baylor students volunteer as Business Plan Advisors to teach PEP participants the skills needed to prepare a business plan. Students traditionally have the opportunity to visit the prison in person and give real-time business plan advise to the PEP participants. During a time of COVID-19 restrictions, however, students volunteer to critique business plan pitches remotely. PEP participates will consider these critiques as they hone their business plans and presentations. Doing so will help them become more effective communicators and greatly increases the likelihood that they will garner real-world support as they launch their businesses upon release.
As advisors, Baylor students support and accompany an inmate through his journey in this life-transforming program. The Business Plan Advisor Program is a true win-win opportunity for both the volunteers and participants.
