Donald Downer II
What's up?! My name is Donald Downer II, and I am a second-year student from Jacksonville, Florida. I am a Finance and Entrepreneurship major with a minor in Biochemistry on the pre-medicine track. Being from Florida, I really like outdoor activities especially on the water like fishing, boating, and wake surfing. I also enjoy staying active through playing soccer and working out at the gym. One of my pastimes I enjoy that’s not physically enduring is writing poetry as a way to decompress and think creatively. Outside of academics and hanging out with friends, I also participate in a variety of organizations on and off campus. Some on-campus and off campus involvement include participation in Alpha Epsilon Delta Honors Pre-Health Society, Intramural Soccer, Poetry Club, the Real Estate Club at Baylor, and as a Harmony Public School Tutor.
For my favorite class at Baylor is a tough choice because I've enjoyed my professors due to their authenticity and passion to support the students. If I could only choose one, I would say Chemistry 1 Honors with Dr. Thomas McGrath was my favorite freshman year class.
My future plans after Baylor include going to Medical school either in Texas or Florida and eventually caring for all different people in a private practice setting in dermatology, ophthalmology, or plastic surgery while impacting the healthcare system through more effective treatments at lower costs for marginalized groups.

In my future pursuits, I aim to combine my passion for business and healthcare through an MD/MBA program. I am passionate about working with the underserved and communities in poverty as well. At Baylor, I am involved in leadership through AED and Laparoscopy Research Program, research in the Honors Cancer Research Internship, and Baylor Chapel Services as a student worker. Off campus, I enjoy volunteering with the DARCC hotline and Talitha Koum and have gone on a mission with Straw2Bread. I've worked a handful of part time jobs as a medical assistant and in retail as well. My favorite classes at Baylor thus far have been in my Medical Humanities coursework, especially Introduction to Medical Ethics with Dr. Pete Younger. Alumni
Below are a couple of our recent graduates from the Fellows program.
Haleigh Brown is a graduate of the Class of 2024. Majoring in Baylor Business Fellows, Finance, Accounting, and Mathematics, Haleigh spent most of her time at Baylor with the Baylor Angel Network where she grew a love for entrepreneurship and Venture Capital as well as Alternative Investments more broadly. She also served as an analyst for the Large Cap Practicum, interned as an investment analyst at a family office, founded and ran a non-profit serving a local pregnancy center, and held the role of Director Member Finance in Pi Beta Phi. As co-CEO of the Business Excellence Scholarship Team, she spent time with Christian business leaders across the globe and learned what it looks like to leverage the marketplace for the sake of the Gospel. These experiences at Baylor, especially Business Fellows, prepared her to take on a role as an Investment Analyst at Hobby Lobby Investments in Oklahoma City. At HLI, she gets to help deploy capital for the Green family across many different private asset classes and has a front row seat to witness the family’s giving efforts to evangelism and Bible translation.
Kay Chi Pua graduated from Baylor University in Spring 2024 with Business Fellows and Economics majors and a Biochemistry minor. She is now a Medical Student at McGovern Medical School in Houston, TX.
Vineet Paidisetty is a Class of 2024 graduate of Baylor University, where he double-majored in Finance and Baylor Business Fellows. There, he aims to pursue his passion for medicine and dedicate himself to becoming a skilled physician. These included a venture capital internship at Bios Partners in Fort Worth, Texas, studying abroad in Madrid, Spain, and an independent study with the Baylor Angel Network during his senior year. Vineet hopes to combine his interests in finance and medicine for his professional career, exploring opportunities in healthcare administration or industry, among other possibilities.
