Caleb Beckering
Hi, I’m Caleb Beckering, a Junior Business Fellow from Chaska, Minnesota, majoring in Finance and Accounting with a Computer Science minor. Being able to study CS while fully immersed in business has been a huge blessing, allowing me to take great courses like Data Structures (CSI 3334) and Advanced Corporate Finance (FIN 4360) with amazing professors.
Outside of academics, I lead a life group at my church, experiencing close, Christ-centered fellowship, which has been the best decision I’ve made at Baylor. I’m also part of Phi Kappa Chi, a Christian fraternity, where I’ve enjoyed intramurals, Sing, and more.
I plan to pursue my CPA and explore careers in tech or management consulting.
Feel free to reach out at caleb_beckering1@baylor.edu if you have any questions about Business Fellows, coursework, or student life!

Donald Downer II

What's up?! My name is Donald Downer II, and I am a second-year student from Jacksonville, Florida. I am a Finance and Entrepreneurship major with a minor in Biochemistry on the pre-medicine track. Being from Florida, I really like outdoor activities especially on the water like fishing, boating, and wake surfing. I also enjoy staying active through playing soccer and working out at the gym. One of my pastimes I enjoy that’s not physically enduring is writing poetry as a way to decompress and think creatively. Outside of academics and hanging out with friends, I also participate in a variety of organizations on and off campus. Some on-campus and off campus involvement include participation in Alpha Epsilon Delta Honors Pre-Health Society, Intramural Soccer, Poetry Club, the Real Estate Club at Baylor, and as a Harmony Public School Tutor.
For my favorite class at Baylor is a tough choice because I've enjoyed my professors due to their authenticity and passion to support the students. If I could only choose one, I would say Chemistry 1 Honors with Dr. Thomas McGrath was my favorite freshman year class.
My future plans after Baylor include going to Medical school either in Texas or Florida and eventually caring for all different people in a private practice setting in dermatology, ophthalmology, or plastic surgery while impacting the healthcare system through more effective treatments at lower costs for marginalized groups.

Outside of Fellows, I am a member of the sorority Alpha Chi Omega, a member of the professional risk management fraternity Gamma Iota Sigma, and a part of the Christian Leadership in Business Program. My favorite classes so far would probably be Calculus 3 and Corporate Finance. When I'm not in school, I love to spend time with friends or in a good book, especially a romcom! After graduation, I plan to become an actuary, since it perfectly combines my two passions of math and finance! My email address is lillie_imm1@baylor.edu.

Ashley Spokes

Hi! I’m Ashley Spokes, a second-year student majoring in Accounting and Economics as part of the Business Fellows Program. Outside of the business school, I am studying mathematics and religion. I am originally from Colorado, just south of Denver in the Castle Rock area. I ended up at Baylor because I wanted to attend a school where I could grow in my faith while pursuing a reputable education.
So far, my favorite class has been the Micro/Macro Economics course that every Fellow takes in their first semester. The class not only deepened my understanding of economics but also helped me build a strong sense of community within the Fellows program. On campus, I’m involved in Women in Business and the Baylor Water Ski Team. These organizations have provided fantastic opportunities for me to connect with like-minded peers. Off campus, I work at Kumon and I tutor students in mathematics. I also recently started an internship at Four Columns Marketing. This opportunity arose from the connections I made in class with my professor and through my involvement with Business Fellows.
In my free time, I love spending weekends at the lake and exploring downtown Waco. The local coffee shops and numerous churches have made my experience here even more enjoyable. After Baylor, I aspire to work as a CPA before pursuing law school.
Feel free to reach out at ashley_spokes1@baylor.edu —I’d love to connect and share more about my journey at Baylor!
