How to Apply

Application Steps

  1. First, apply to the university and wait for acceptance.
  2. Apply to Baylor Business Fellows on your goBaylor account.
  3. The application for Baylor Business Fellows opens with the application to the university, but the review for admission to Business Fellows will not take place until February of 2026. So, the Fellows application opens the same time as the application to the university.

*FYI…if you are applying to Baylor Business Fellows, Science Research Fellows, and University Scholars, you will eventually have to choose one of these majors.   Students cannot major in Business Fellows and University Scholars, or Business Fellows and Science Research Fellows.

Due Date

While there is not a specific deadline, applicants to Baylor Business Fellows should apply as early as possible. We will take applications until May 1, 2026.

Notification Date

Applications that come in throughout the fall and early spring can expect an acceptance notice/email by late February 2026 or early March 2026. Only after the initial rollout of first decisions will we review applications and files on a rolling basis.

General Tips for Applying

  • Since Business Fellows is an academically guided and motivated major you will need to provide an official score from one of the college entrance exams (ACT or SAT) in concert with other application materials. We do understand the university has taken a test optional policy for university admission. However, your test scores along with your transcript and letters of recommendation provide us with the information necessary for an academic major such as Business Fellows.
  • After successfully submitting an application you should receive and email from us that we have received your application. If you do not get an email, then something is awry.

Who Can Apply?

Application to the program is open to both incoming freshmen and current Baylor students. The majority of Fellows are admitted prior to the freshman year.

Application Requirements

The Fellows program application can be completed online. The application includes:

  • Your resume (upload file)
  • A short essay (one or two pages) explaining how you would benefit from the major. (upload file)
  • A photograph of yourself (upload image file)
    • Try to provide a photo with an interesting dimension to it. For example, doing something that reflects an interest, passion or hobby. Your face should be recognizable in the photo.
  • INCOMING FRESHMEN ONLY:
    • Two letters of recommendation from current or former teachers
      • You may use preexisting recommendations, such as those from scholarship applications, admission files or
      • Recommendations may be emailed (from a recognizable school source) to BusinessFellows@baylor.edu
    • Unofficial High School Transcript - submitted to Admissions
      • Transcript should show previous three years of classes with grades
      • Transcript should show which courses currently are taking
    • Official test scores from ACT or SAT are strongly preferred. Applicants without ACT or SAT scores may submit AP or IB test scores instead. Decisions may be deferred on applicants who submit no test scores.
    • The initial review of applications for entering students will take place at some point between February and the end of March.
  • CURRENT STUDENTS ONLY:
    • Current transcript - with posted grades for each semester at Baylor
    • Must have credit for MTH 1321 before applying
    • Must have at least 15 hours in each semester at Baylor, with at least two courses that show strength of schedule that would be similar to a current Business Fellow. STEM or foreign language are some courses that indicate strength of schedule.
    • Applications for current students are reviewed between the last day of finals and the first week of the following term.
