Professional Summary
Chris Pullig, PhD, serves as Chair of the Marketing Department at the Hankamer School of Business. His research and teaching focus on consumer attitudes and decision-making, with emphasis on three key areas: 1) how consumers evaluate brands, 2) marketing and branding in the global marketplace, and 3) ethics and the role of marketing in promoting pro-societal causes.
Dr. Pullig’s work has been published in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Marketing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Retailing, European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business Research, and Journal of Public Policy & Marketing, among others.
He serves on the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science and is a regular reviewer for top-tier journals such as the Journal of Marketing and Journal of Consumer Research. In 2024, he received the Thomas C. Kinnear Award, recognizing the most significant contribution to marketing and public policy published in Journal of Public Policy & Marketing over a multi-year period.
Prior to joining Baylor, Dr. Pullig was a faculty member at the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia. Before entering academia, he served as CEO of a Texas-based retail chain, bringing valuable industry experience to his research and teaching.
