Professional Summary
Daniel M. Ogden, JD, is a lecturer in International Business, International Law and International Relations at Baylor University. He formerly was Baylor’s director of Trade Compliance, University export control officer and DDTC empowered official. He also provides international trade consulting services through his firm, International Trade & Customs Advisory Services and additionally provides professional executive and management training in international trade compliance.
Starting in January 2018, he created, organized and began teaching a new course in Baylor’s Hankamer School of Business, Global Trade Compliance, which is the only course of its kind offered by any AACSB accredited Business School in the U.S., and is offered at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He also teaches Global Business Strategy and Global Supply Chain at the undergraduate level and Global Trade Compliance Management, which is part of the Baylor Online MBA Global Trade and Supply Chain Management concentration. He additionally teaches various internationally-oriented courses in Baylor’s Department of Political Science including International Law, International Political Economics, Government and Business, and Fundamentals of International Politics.
He has also taught Transnational Law and Business Transactions at the Tianjin University of Finance and Economics in Tianjin, China; and Introduction to International Business and Trade, International Marketing Management, and International Business Law at Richland College. He has additionally been a guest lecturer in International Business Transactions at Texas Tech University School of Law and Export Market Development at the University of Texas at Dallas School of Management.
He is an attorney at law, licensed customs broker and international trade consultant who, for more than 35 years, has counseled and represented companies on various aspects of international trade and business. With his advanced degrees and proficiency in both law and international business management, he possesses the ability and experience to understand the challenges involved in international trade from a legal, managerial and business perspective. A recognized authority on international trade issues, he frequently consults with international firms as an expert on international trade matters and provides training to companies on trade compliance management.
