Professional Summary

Adégboyega (Adé) Oyedijo joined Baylor University following an international career spanning academia and industry. He spent more than six years in academic roles in the United Kingdom, including positions at York St John, Hull, and Stirling, and most recently as associate professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management at the University of Leicester. 

Alongside his academic work, he held leadership responsibilities in internationalization, global engagement, program direction and student recruitment, serving as director of internationalization and student recruitment at the University of Leicester School of Business and as director of the MSc in International Business, the largest MSc program in the college with three intakes per year. Earlier, he was director of student recruitment and program director for the MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (online) at the University of Hull, and director of the MSc in Project Management (online) at York St John University. Prior to and during his doctoral training, he gained industry experience in logistics and transport with TNT Express and FedEx, contributing to the global distribution of complex goods.

His research focuses on sustainable, responsible and ethical supply chains in multitier supply networks across sectors, with a strong emphasis on emerging economies, particularly in Africa, where his work engages policy-relevant challenges spanning critical minerals, healthcare and agri-food systems. His research has been supported by the British Academy (Principal Investigator, $15,000 grant) and the Wellcome Trust (Co-Investigator on a $1.3 million project), and has been disseminated through and recognized by national and international platforms including the UK Parliament, the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, the Migration Policy Institute, The Conversation, and the World Economic Forum, where he contributes to the global agenda on supply chains, transport, and manufacturing and value chains. He has supervised doctoral research on sustainable and responsible multi-tier supply networks.

Oyedijo serves as regional editor (Africa) for the Journal of Supply Chain Management and sits on the editorial review board of the Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management, where he received the 2023 Outstanding Reviewer of the Year award. He is currently guest editor of special issues at the Journal of Supply Chain Management on Expanding the Frontiers of Supply Chain Management through Traditional Knowledge and Indigenous Worldviews, and at the Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management on Procurement and Supply Chain Management of Perishable Goods. He is also the founder and director of the Society of Black Academics (SBA) and director of the IPSERA Africa Initiative.
