Professional Summary
Alice Muncy joined the Department of Accounting and Business Law as an assistant professor in the fall of 2020. She teaches Advanced Managerial Accounting.
Muncy graduated from Georgia State University with a doctorate in accountancy in May of 2020. She is a trained behavioral researcher, with an emphasis in the experimental research methodology. Her main research interest is in managerial accounting. Specifically, it focuses on management control systems and compensation. While at Georgia State University, Muncy taught in the areas of financial and managerial accounting. In addition, she has her undergraduate and master’s in accounting from Valdosta State University.
Prior to academia, Muncy worked for a national CPA firm, auditing government and not-for-profit organizations. Working in this area gave her an interesting perspective on the internal processes of large, complex organizations, as well as smaller, rural healthcare providers. While at the firm, she earned her CPA license in Georgia.
