Jared L. Black, PhD, MHA, MS, is an Assistant Professor at the U.S. Army-Baylor University Graduate Program in Health and Business Administration. Dr. Black has 20 years of leadership experience across managed care and clinical operations, program management and evaluation, health policy, and health services research. His background includes serving as Chief of Managed Care and Program Analysis for Regional Health Command Europe, Executive Officer for Madigan Army Medical Center, and other command and both staff and command roles in the Military Health System.
Dr. Black’s academic and research interests include policy evaluation at both the policy and operational levels. His work applies causal inference methods in health economics to examine the effects of policy and organizational changes on healthcare systems and outcomes.
Dr. Black teaches graduate-level courses in economics and health administration and works with students to develop applied research and leadership skills relevant to complex healthcare environments.
