Professional Summary

Amanda Porter holds a PhD in Organizational Communication and has been teaching courses in communication and business since 2008. She enjoys implementing innovative pedagogical tools that foster collaboration in education. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including the International Journal of Communication and The European Journal of Information Systems.

Porter teaches Business Communications at the Hankamer School of Business, where she prepares students to become effective and credible communicators. The course focuses on enhancing students’ presentation, writing, and cross-cultural collaboration skills. An innovative feature of this course is the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) project, which pairs Baylor students with peers at universities abroad to work together in virtual teams. Porter is committed to fostering an international perspective on business communication.
