James W. Henderson

Professional Summary

James W. Henderson, chair and professor of Economics at Baylor University, received his PhD in Economics from Southern Methodist University in 1981. He has published healthcare research in Pharmacoeconomics, Journal of Insurance Regulation, Expert Review of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research, Journal of Legal Economics, Journal of Forensic Economics, Journal of Rural Studies, Journal of Regional Science and Health Care Financing Review.  Notable books include Health Economics and Policy, 8e (CENGAGE, 2022) and Health Care for Us All (Cambridge Press, 2009). 

An active economic consultant, Henderson provides expert testimony in litigation cases around the country. He has worked with more than 50 different law firms over the past 25 years providing testimony in more than 150 cases. Henderson and his wife Betsy have two sons and three grandchildren.
