Coffee Toffee Bars

Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
Sift together:
- 2 ¼ cups sifted flour
- ½ tsp. baking powder
- ¼ tsp. salt
Cream:
- 1 cup softened butter
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
Blend in:
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 1 Tablespoon (or more) INSTANT coffee
Add dry ingredients gradually. Blend thoroughly.
Stir in:
- ¾ cups chocolate chips
- ½ cups chopped nuts (any type is fine)
Press into a well-greased 15x10x1 inch pan (jelly roll pan).
Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Cut into bars.
